: : Don Muang : :
Effective 28 September 2006 Bangkok's venerable international airport
in Don Muang closed to all international arrivals. The new international
airport, Suvarnabhumi Airport,
is located about 25 kilometres east of downtown Bangkok. This beautiful
new airport (see photo in sidebar on right) is now the largest airport
in Southeast Asia. Set on 8,000 acres and boasting the largest single
terminal building in the world the arirport is designed to handle
some 45 million passengers annually. Don Muang (DMK) refers to Bangkok's
old airport, now serving domestic flights only.
That said, hotels in this area are near the old airport in
Don Muang. Hotels near the new airport will be added shortly.
FYI, in order to remain objective, hotels are listed in alphabetical
order. We don't favor any hotel for any reason.
